How to Create Teenage Room Signs For Your
1Find your theme. Are you preppy, a bookworm, a cheerleader, gothic? You have to find what your theme should be, maybe it's based on a book or a movie, you decide.
2Figure out the base of you sign, what color should it be, blue, yellow, black, purple? Figure out what you're starting with.
3Write. You can write a saying or your own name in the sign, it doesn't matter. You can decorate your words to look cursive, painted, graffitied, or sloppy.
4What are you going to put at the edges? Flowers, feathers, thunder. For a sign, always decorate your edges to look your style. Maybe you want feathered edges or shredded ones to show your personality, there is no right and wrong so bring out your imagination.
5Choose a background sign. The most important is the background sign. It could be a giant peace symbol or a thunderbolt. This is optional but it's a very cool thing to add to your room signs. This can help you to see what your tastes are in designing too.
How to Create a Zen Bedroom
1Clear the desks. Your bedside table should not be as a dumping ground for knick-knacks and growing piles of "stuff". Nor should it ever serve as an extension of your office. Put away the files, telephone, diary, highlighters, kids' toys and medications. Keep only the things that are essential for sleep and resting: a book, moisturizer, a photo, a glass of water. The fewer things next to your bed, the fewer distractions and the more disposed to sleeping you will be.
2Make it into a noiseless cocoon. Your bedroom should be a haven. This may be hard if the neighbours hubbub can be heard through the wall. It's a bit too expensive in most cases to consider soundproofing the room but you can muffle any sounds coming from other rooms by putting up shelves and lining them with books. The books will absorb some of the noise. Although, Su T'ung
Po, a zen master once said "All noises are the noises of the Buddha". Try to think of this when hearing that barking dog on the street.
1Remove electromagnetic disturbances. The radio alarm clock, TV, mobile phone, computer etc. - all these appliances emit electromagnetic pollution even when in stand-by mode or turned off. This can disturb sleep and block the production of melatonin. Not to mention the annoyance of blinking or glowing lights emitting from some appliances that disturb sleep. Best to move all such appliances to another room. And get a wind-up alarm clock!
2Leave worries at the bedroom door. Don't bring your day's concerns into the bedroom. Instead, write a list of the things that need doing or are bothering you in order of priority that you will deal with tomorrow. This list will help you to clarify ideas and give you a sense of mastering the situation, thereby avoiding useless stress at the time you want to be falling asleep.
3Come to your Zen bedroom relaxed. This requires unwinding beforehand. Have a sea salt bath. Throw in several handfuls of sea salt into a bath of 36º C (97ºF) temperature. Not only is this assured relaxation as the warm water encourages physical relaxing but the sea salt penetrates your skin barrier to stimulate the circulatory system and unwind those tired muscles. You will feel good and sleepy after a sea salt bath.
4Take Zen practices into the Zen bedroom. Meditation is permitted in a Zen bedroom. As is massage and no better than a sleep-inducing massage. According to traditional Chinese medicine, a 5 - 10 minute massage of the hollow found just behind your earlobe will stimulate your eyelids to close. Try it!
5Keep the room cool. In summer, toss the covers and spritz your body with water before pulling over the sheet. Even in winter, a cooler room temperature is better for good sleep than overly warm.
6Adopt a Zen sleeping position. Lying on your side is the best for aiding good sleep and digestion. Lying on your back tends to encourage snoring and sore necks, whilst lying on your tummy can inhibit breathing and place pressure on your stomach region, preventing easy digestion.
How to Completely Darken a Room on a Budget For Your
Step 1: You'll need the following tools and items:
Scissors
Measuring tape
Blackout lining fabric
Thumbtacks
Weatherstrip seal
Step 2: Measure your window to figure out how much fabric you'll need. Plan on getting enough to overlap the entire window by a few inches, this extra material is necessary to attach the fabric around the window.

Step 3: After getting your measurements purchase some blackout drapery lining from a fabric store. You may have to purchase more than one piece to cover the entire window depending on the width of the fabric which is usually 54 inches (137.16 cm). It can cost anywhere from $4-9 per yard.
Note: If using more than one piece of fabric you can permanently attach them together using stitch free fabric adhesive this will help avoid light from entering between the unattached ends.
Step 4: Now secure the fabric completely around the window, overlapping the window by about 3 inches (7.62 cm). Keep it in place with thumbtacks, nails or whatever you want to use, thumbtacks are inexpensive and can be easily installed/removed. Be sure to stretch the fabric when placing the thumbtacks to maintain it firmly against the wall, it'll keep light from sneaking in around the sides.
Step 5: At this point your room may already be completely blacked out but if light tends to come in around the edge of your door a quick solution is to use a weatherstrip seal. Just place it around the frame where the door makes contact. I used a 5/16 inch (7.9 cm) thick foam seal which worked perfectly and it only cost $4. Ensure you use the right thickness to avoid problems in closing the door.
Step 6: You're Done. Sit back and enjoy your completely blacked out room.

How to Choose a Neck Supporting Pillow For Your
1Look for a pillow that aligns your ear with your shoulder. This is the best position to support your neck.
2Keep trying the pillows until you find the one that works for you. Unfortunately, there is no one single combination that is ideal for everyone, so you will have to be prepared to experiment.
Some people find two flat pillows are better than one large pillow.
Some people prefer molded pillows.
3Use a pillow under your knees as well if you have back aches. This helps to take the load off your spinal joints.
How to Create a Bed Canopy Without Posts For Your
1Make a small hole in the ceiling above the bed and a few inches out from each corner of the bed. This will allow the material to hang clear of the mattress. The holes should be large enough to hold a wall anchor securely.
2Use a hammer and tap a wall anchor into each hole, and then screw a hook into each anchor without over-tightening.
3Hang curtain rings on each hook.
4Starting with the first ring, knot the fabric to the ring using one piece of material (length), then drape across to the other ring and knot.
5Using one short piece of material, knot the fabric to the ring and drape across (width) to the other ring and knot.
6Repeat for the last two rings.
7Using the vertical pieces of materials. Knot to each ring and allow to fall to floor creating a pool effect.

How to Change Your Bedroom Into a Peaceful Area for you
1Get some furniture that gives off peaceful vibes. For example, one great idea is a beanbag in the corner. Plants are very pleasing to the eye, maybe because it's in our genes to like the color green-after all, in Neolithic times, it was almost always a source of food! Find some good posters of nature or peace and such, and put them up on the walls. Put up some poster frames or something of strange objects. Perhaps get a really large one and put a loved but too small T-shirt in it or something. The possibilities are endless! And most of them-like the windchimes or beanbag chair-are fairly inexpensive.
2Play some soothing music or sounds. This may include ambient music, which is usually nature sounds. The mood is light and happy, and you get more relaxed. In fact, if you close your eyes, you can almost imagine yourself at some place far away. Far away, beyond time and space, beyond life and death, beyond country boundaries... For example, on iTunes, there's a great album for this, called "Sounds of the Earth."
3Learn how to lose yourself. No amount of peace-generating effects are going to help you if you can't calm down. Sit on that beanbag chair, close your eyes, and rest. Imagine yourself in the heart of Africa, or in a garden on a Sunday evening, or sleeping in a swamp at night, or even living underwater.
4Get something to express your creativity. Consider keeping a pen and notebook near you, so that you can write a poem or a short story, or just write down your contemplations on life. Expression is the greatest way to realization of your true potential.
1Prepare to paint your room. You will need blue, green, yellow, orange, and any color of flower.
2Paint a bright blue sky, and a sun on the ceiling.
3Paint long green stems, and do bunches of flowers on them.
4Buy a green carpet and put it on your floor.
5Buy lanterns matching the color of your flowers, and hang them up.
6Have most of your furniture be white. If it is not, have it green, blue, or the color of the flower.
7Have yoga music playing. It will finish the scene off.
8Invite a friend, and show off your new bedroom!
